I'm a mormon.

WHY?

I know this gospel is true and have seen the many ways in which it has blessed my life. My favorite primary song is "Keep the Commandments". When we obey them, we are blessed with safety and peace. I am so grateful to have had the standards in the For Strength of Youth to keep me guided through my years in high school! I am grateful for the power of prayer and know that he is always there listening to me. I love my family and am thankful that this gospel gives us so much to look forward to in being with our families forever. :)

I am a mormon because I know and have felt Heavenly Fathers love for me by obeying his commandments.

In what ways have my prayers been answered?

I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers and that he is mindful of every human circumstance in this life. Three years ago, my sophomore year of high school, I was running cross country during a summer practice. It was a very hot day and I was just finishing up the last two miles around the high school before I would be done with my run. At a very distinct spot as I finished running the loop around the school, a deep thought came to me about my sister Kelsi. Kelsi was two years old at the time and I had a deep impression that something life changing was about to happen to my family, especially Kelsi. I remember finishing the last mile of my run and I could not get her image out of my head. Three weeks later, Kelsi was admitted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and was diagnosed with stage IV high risk childhood cancer. After two years of chemo, radiation, therapies and protocols, I am happy to say she is now cancer free. I know that he hears our prayers and that he is always mindful of our circumstances. I know the power of prayer has blessed my life in so many ways!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a missionary and representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Back in Tennessee, I served as church missionary with the sister missionaries in my home ward. It was a great experience to dedicate time each week to go serve and teach people with the sister missionaries.
