Dome of the Rock- 3rd holiest site for Muslims

Yesterday we were able to view the temple mount grounds. The Dome of the Rock is located on Mt Moriah (where Abraham journeyed to sacrifice Isaac). The mosque is only open for one hour two times a day so it is kind of hard to make it on time. After we got there, we were searched by security and police were everywhere on the site.

The Judaism faith believes Jesus Christ will return when King Solomon's temple is rebuilt on this exact location of the temple mount. Of course, it will probably never happen because it is a sacred place to the Muslim faith. Just a couple steps away is the Western Wall for the Judaism faith, which is the closest point to their sacred place. We will be going there on Friday for worship service :)

It was a good time to reflect of this temple and just to observe the Muslim pray. The picture doesn't even do justice of the beutiful tile patterns on the mosque. Inside the mosque is a stone they worship. Every person removes their shoes for sacredness purposes.
