Arab night.

LOVED seeing their complete dedication to living what they believe.

Naji is 56 and Firas, 26, are sheiks who came to demonstrate the Call to Prayer for us. They Muslims have the call to prayer 5 times a day (Morning, Afternoon, evening, night, early morning). Some things I learned about the Call to Prayer/reading of Qur'an.

-In order to become a Sheik, you must:

1)memorize the WHOLE Qur'an (116 Suraya's or chapters) and

2) have the DIVINE gift aka good voice.

-Firas said he had a desire from the early age of SIX years old. He memorized the whole Qu'uran by 9 and recited his first at 10.

-Sheik Naji's family has passed down the gift for 500 years.

-The whole call to prayer/reading takes around 30 minutes.

-Men are required to pray in mosques, but women are not.

We then ate a very authentic meal of Eggplant, Chicken, Lamb, Steak, hummus, pita, etc. a ton of traditional Arab food. Wasn't my favorite but it was fun trying the different foods. :)

ARAB DANCING IS SO FUN. One of our sequrity guards brought some girls from a local dance team to teach us a traditional arab dance. It was so fun! :)
