Today was our first Fast Sabbeth in Jerusalem. I loved it! I am so blessed to be a part of such an amazing branch filled with such strong, devoted members.

I really love fasting and how appreciative/humble I am after it.
I am especially grateful to my parents for teaching me from a very early age the importance of a complete fast. I think of a family tradition we had-- PIE (Personal Interview for Everyone) and how much I looked forward to it every month. :)
After our fast, we celebrated with PIE and an interview with my parents.
I love this tradition and always loved the 1-on-1 attention with my parents. :)
Today our relief society lesson was on re-evaluating what makes up a majority of our thoughts.
It was a very sincere lesson and I took a lot from it. For me, I think about my future constantly.
It was a lesson I really needed to hear that everything will work out if we think more of Christ and the sacrifice He made for us.
Since tomorrow is Sabbeth for everyone in the States, I challenge everyone to think more of the gospel principles of which you were sent here on Earth to learn and develop a testimony of for yourself. Read the scriptures and pray each day. In order to fully understand and have a testimony of the gospel, you have to understand it in context. Learn from these stories in the scriptures.
This is where you will find the most spiritual experiences.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Happy Sabbeth! Shabbat Shalom!
XOXO, alyson :)
